Our protector, Satguru Nanak pita ji,
gave equality to you and to me,
why is it then that women are supressed?
lets think hard, take one guess!

We need support from our SINGHS
to have and to hold until we grow old,
cultivate our dharma is what
we have been told.

We have been blessed with the role of princess,
to wave SatGuru's flower to spread the fragrance
but my big brothers don't let me go to camps
to learn about the Sikh heros and Champs
My daddy dear doesn't let me study
away from home at a top class Uni
He's so worried about his reputation
that he marries me off without hesitation.
My husband just wants me to cook and clean
and his mother hates me - she's so mean.
My son grows up like a spoilt brat
he orders me about with so much chat
But I take it all in my stride
cause this is the life of a Sikh bride
and I see my mother was just the same
